About the role
We're looking for candidates with a proven track record in high-performance computing. The role entails actively contributing to the design and development of algorithms and GPU kernels for inference and training as well as researching new applications for LLMs. If you obsess over fine-tuning performance down to the very last instruction, this is the perfect opportunity!

What we think might make you thrive at MK1:
- You should have a Master’s or a higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or bring to the table 3+ years of relevant experience in developing and scaling production systems.
(If you held a past role as a Compiler Engineer, Kernel Engineer, GPU Engineer or worked in high-performance/parallel computing or programming DSPs, FPGAs or GPUs, this position might be suitable for you.) - Demonstrated experience developing with either CUDA, HIP, DPC++ or SYCL.
- Demonstrated skills in programming in C, C++ and Python. Familiarity with tools like CMake is a bonus.
- Additional experience in open-source contributions, or roles in early-stage startups or as a founder will be highly regarded.
Compensation and benefits
The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $175,000. Total compensation also includes equity and benefits, which may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
